During 2008, Habitat Kansas City is building nine new houses and will rehab several existing homes.

3635 Highland was our first new build for 2008, sponsored by Habitat Kansas City ReStore.  This "green build" is a LEED certified version of our current house plan and was featured in the Spring Tour of Homes put on by the Home Builders Association.  The Cann family moved in to their new home in May.

2336 College is sponsored by Christ Community Church, Demdaco and the Ash Grove Foundation.  This home was a two month Blitz Build starting in June.  The Washington family moved in at beginning of August.

2330 College is sponsored by Garmin & Turner Construction and followed the same Blitz Build schedule as the house at 2336.  It is now the home of the Rolf family.

2326 College will be completed in the late fall and is sponsored by Realty Executives and Wells Fargo.  The Rainer family will move in when it is finished.

5619 & 5625 E 16th St are both sponsored by the Harmony group of churches and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.  These houses were completed at the end of September and now house the Arol and Hall families.

5624, 5628, and 5632 E 16th St are being sponsored by KCP&L with help from many of their business partners.  These homes are scheduled for completion in the late fall and will house the Allen, Morris and Larson families.

Rehabs at 3001 Highland, 2943 Flora and 3630 Woodland will be keeping our volunteers and construction staff busy through the winter months and on rainy days.
