How Congregations Can Get Involved

"I wish to make an earnest call to everyone, Christian and followers of other religions, to work together to build a world without violence, a world that loves life, and grows in justice and solidarity.  God bless all who are building homes with Habitat for Humanity." - Pope John Paul II at World Youth Day 2002

Adopt a family
The adopt a family program is a relational opportunity for churches to reach out to Habitat family partners. If working on a construction site doesn't appeal to your group, you might find this program great for your church members to participate in.  Churches and other faith organizations will be paired up with Habitat KC homeowner families and have an opportunity to connect with them from the time they are approved for the program until they move into their new Habitat home.  For more information on how this program works, please download the following document. How it Works

Build a House
Work with Habitat for Humanity Kansas City to plan a project, or join one of our current opportunities

Provide Volunteers
You can prepare lunch for construction volunteers one Saturday, schedule days to send work crews to the build sites, or help some of our programs in the Family Serivces department.

Pray for Habitat for Humanity
Pray specifically for the lives and communities touched by Habitat, both here in Kansas City and around the world.

Become advocates for quality affordable housing
Within the church and within the community, be a passionate voice proclaiming that poverty housing conditions are unacceptable.

Educate about Habitat for Humanity
