We had a great time at the Pizza Bar in the Power and Light District on July 22nd and have from several of you who are interested in joining our leadership team for the 2010-2011 year. For August, we're putting together a happy hour at Jack Gage Tavern, at 51st and Main Street (south of the plaza). Time and date TBD. Come meet some awesome professional people who are also interested in helping organizations like Habitat KC and have a great time relaxing after work.
Our next volunteer day will be working on a Habitat KC construction project on Saturday, August 21st. Be sure to wear sturdy, closed toes shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting dirty! For more information, or to sign up for the volunteer day (since space is limited) email HYP@habitatkc.org.

Habitat Young Professionals Kansas City is a group that engages young professionals (ages 21-40) in the work of Habitat Kansas City. We get together for networking and happy hours, have build days on the Habitat KC construction sites, and host other fun events! This is a group for people who are looking to get involved in their community, make the world better, have some fun and make new friends all at the same time.
Everyone is invited to attend our happy hours & volunteer days. If you choose to become a member, you'll receive discounts on event cover charges, a Habitat KC t-shirt, get preference for volunteer opportunities and get invited to members only events. Dues are $100 a year (lump sum) or $10 a month automatically charged to a credit card. Our goal is to eventually raise enough money to buid a "HYP House" with Habitat KC.
