There's more to working with our families than just building a house. We work with our families to prepare them to become homeowners and we offer supplemental programs to assist them and others in our neighborhood:
Food pantry: Our office keeps a small food pantry stocked by donations and a partnership with Harvesters food bank. People who need food assistance must have need (proof of income), show a photo id, have proof of address (utility bill), show social security cards for everyone in the household receiving food, and schedule an appointment. Pick up days are Tuesday & Thursdays 1:30-4, and Saturdays by appointment only. For more information or to schedule an appointment, please contact our Family Services department by calling 816-924-1096.
School Uniform Exchange: Have your kids outgrown their school uniforms? If they are still in good shape for someone else to use, you can bring them to our office and exchange them for the correct size. To make an appointment for your exchange, please call 816-924-1096.
Backpack Repack: While many places collect school supplies at the beginning of the school year, many children need new supplies for the spring semester. Our Backpack Repack event takes place in January to help restock the supplies kids will need to successfully complete the school year. If you have items you'd like to donate, or if you'd like to sign up to participate in this event, please contact Family Services.
