Volunteers love working at Habitat ReStore. Here are two volunteers’ experiences.
“In early 2002 my daughter recommended checking out ReStore when I complained to her I couldn’t find matching flooring material to make repairs to the 94 year old house. I was very impressed with all the STUFF. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the right flooring, but I returned two weeks later to find a close match of oak hardwood floor material. As I was paying (a very small amount), I noticed the sign for volunteers needed and asked the cashier for more information. Almost instantly, the volunteer coordinator greeted me and convinced me to volunteer. Fridays in the warehouse became a routine for the next 6 years and 1003 hours of time I have volunteered.
I’m addicted to the bargains, the recycle philosophy, the delighted customers, and the fantastic staff. ReStore is truly a win, win, win situation.”

“My experience volunteering at ReStore is a totally selfish endeavor. I was looking for an opportunity to meet new people and have new experiences. Already, I’ve met many people, and each one has added something to my day. The customers, volunteers and staff members have all been pleasant, friendly and full of information about building things and building life. Everyone is as excited about finding great bargains as I am helping supply them. With so many materials coming in every day, and so many volunteers, some with no experience in retail or building supplies, I've been impressed with how smoothly everything works,. This opportunity has been a perfect fit with both my schedule and my personal goals. I would recommend participating in either building houses or working at ReStore to anyone that wants a fun, rewarding experience.”
